Hi guys,

I've been doing further work on the pattern so that it doesn't look like a drain. I have looked at a few different variations. My favourites are the more natural looking ones such as, the leaves and vines and I think this would work well in a bathroom. What do you think?

Based on what we discussed on Wednesday, this is the start of the new model which is smaller. I think it is much better because it is easier to hold. What do you think of the size?

I've just been looking at the pattern again, what are you thoughts on this?

When we were looking at the physical model we thought that it may be better off if it was smaller. This is because it will then fit more comfortably in the hand and then it could be used my more people. This is a possibility.

soap ball concept images

personally i think the more this resembles a ball with only subtle protrusions, the better. the plug where the soap can be added can have a slightly wider diameter and therefore act as a base where the ball can sit

Model of the soap grater from my previous post. The shaded semicircle will be a cut out so it is easier to pick up and also you can place your thumb there to steady it when you are holding it. The lines on top is where the soap would be grated.

As the soap is being grated it is caught in the hand holding the product.

I found this product which I think works in a similar way to a salt or pepper grinder.

Here are two renders of an idea we had today developing from the soap board. The idea is that you can sit these products on your hand, grate the soap which is caught in that hand and then just put it back on the side. The remainder of the time the soap will sit on top.

New idea

My idea is of a silicone bag type device that holds the soap at the front of the faucet.

The problem we face when washing our hands with soap is that there is always soap residue left on the side of the sink. The idea we had over here was to take inspiration from the traditional wash board and create something that would allow you to grate the bar of soap and then use the soap flakes to wash your hands. Therefore the bar of soap would have no contact with water to create the soap residue.

The two images above and below are a demonstration of the soap being grated and then what you are left with.

The following 4 images are of a model I made to show what the product could possibly look like. The product could be made from materials such as wood, ceramic or slate.
